 Members from Lodge 83 played a very significant role in the Tractor Run around Ireland in 2003 to raise funds for the Southern Area Hospice in Newry, Wor Bro Noel Magowan, The Late V Wor Bro Robert Kelly and V Wor Bro Robert Patterson held the offices of Co-ordinator, Secretary and Treasurer resp. of the organsing committee. Other members of the Lodge joined in an eventful and unforgettable tour of Ireland which raised £44000. Many new friendships were made and have resulted in visits taking place in both directions between Newry Brethren and Others.
                   

 

 Grand Masters Festival 2009

Francis Crossle Lodge 83 donated £2300 to the Grand Masters Festival which raised over £600,000 for the Samartians, Northern Ireland Childrens Hospice and the Laurel Lynn foundation, with all three charities receiving over £200,000 each.

Masonic Girls Benefit Fund; provides assistance to daughters of deceased Freemasons.
 
Masonic Boys Benefit Fund; provides assistance to sons of deceased Freemasons.
 
Victoria Jubilee Masonic Benevolent Fund; provides assistance to widows.
 
Masonic Welfare Fund; Established in 1997 to extend the scope of Masonic charitable activities.
Down Masonic Widows Fund; established in 1893 to provide assistance to widows and families of deceased Freemasons.
 
Masonic Orphans’ Welfare Fund; provides grants to the children of Freemasons to assist with educational expenses.
 
Margaret Elizabeth Daniel Respite Fund; established in 2007, to provide assistance towards the cost of temporary respite care, for Freemasons or their immediate family members.
